How it works

  1. Seeds germinate in trays with an organic soil additive that strengthens blocks for clean, damage-free transplanting.

  2. The cell trays are loaded into the transplanter.

  3. The system autonomously drills precise holes with customizable spacing for any crop or bed size.

  4. Seedlings are gently lifted and placed, preserving roots and soil integrity.

  5. Fully automated operation plants an entire bed without supervision, ensuring consistent depth and spacing every time.

This innovative process and our patent pending design reduces labor, prevents transplant shock, and helps growers scale efficiently.

What's new with RootCycle Technologies?

RootCycle Technologies was formerly OTEK Solutions. While our name has evolved, our mission remains the same... to empower farmers and plant growers everywhere with advanced technology that helps them grow their business and simplify their work.

What are we learning?

Microgreens aren’t just trendy—they’re nutritional powerhouses. These tiny seedlings, harvested after their first true leaves develop, deliver a concentrated punch of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Studies show they can contain 4 to 40 times more nutrients than mature plants, making them an efficient way to boost health with minimal space.

Alpha Prototype

Our first prototype is complete, and we’re meeting with farmers for hands-on demonstrations! This design highlights the core functionality of the transplanting cycle. While it doesn’t include all the features planned for the final version, it offers an exciting sneak peek at what’s ahead. Interested in seeing it in action? Schedule a demo with us today!

Pioneer Edition – Our First Product

We’re in the early design stages, shaping our transplanter based on valuable feedback from farmer demos. While the image above isn’t our final design, it offers a glimpse into the direction we’re heading. We’re excited to share concept drawings and visuals soon as the vision comes to life!

What Farmers Are Saying

Field Insights

Transplanting is one of the most labor-intensive, time-consuming, and costly farm operations. With a shrinking labor pool and outdated solutions that are too big, slow, or inflexible, growers are forced to scale back.

RootCycle is changing that with smarter, adaptable technology designed to tackle real-world challenges and help growers focus on what matters most—healthy, thriving plants.

Graham Matter, owner of Graham’s Greens, is showing how small farms can make a big impact. What began as a micro-urban project has now grown into a thriving 5-acre farm in Chillicothe, Ohio. On this land, Graham cultivates fresh salad greens, herbs, and microgreens directly in the soil, using sustainable and efficient practices to deliver high-quality produce to his community.

You can find Graham’s harvest each week at the Chillicothe Farmers Market, where he’s built a loyal customer base who value the freshness and flavor of his crops. His approach combines hard work, innovation, and a commitment to local food systems—proving that farmers don’t need massive acreage to succeed.

In 2022, Graham’s Greens was recognized by Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose for its contribution to Ohio agriculture and as an example of the entrepreneurial spirit that drives local farming forward. As Graham continues to expand and innovate, he’s helping inspire a new generation of growers to think big, even on small farms.
