Graham Matter, owner of Graham’s Greens, is showing how small farms can make a big impact. What began as a micro-urban project has now grown into a thriving 5-acre farm in Chillicothe, Ohio. On this land, Graham cultivates fresh salad greens, herbs, and microgreens directly in the soil, using sustainable and efficient practices to deliver high-quality produce to his community.
You can find Graham’s harvest each week at the Chillicothe Farmers Market, where he’s built a loyal customer base who value the freshness and flavor of his crops. His approach combines hard work, innovation, and a commitment to local food systems—proving that farmers don’t need massive acreage to succeed.
In 2022, Graham’s Greens was recognized by Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose for its contribution to Ohio agriculture and as an example of the entrepreneurial spirit that drives local farming forward. As Graham continues to expand and innovate, he’s helping inspire a new generation of growers to think big, even on small farms.
